It once had a highly misleading name—"space oil"—leading many to believe it was just a regular e-cigarette liquid. But now, the government has officially recognized it on July 31, 2025, placing it alongside marijuana and cocaine, clearly revealing its true nature: its scientific name is etomidate, a drug that causes serious harm to our physical and mental health!

Let us see its true colors:

1. Deadly Disguise and Horrible Consequences: Etomidate looks just like ordinary e-cigarette liquid, a disguise criminals use to lure young people on social media. But its true nature is extremely terrifying. After ingestion, a person will experience convulsions, loss of consciousness, loss of bodily control, and even skin ulceration. The horrific "zombie-like" states circulating online are a true reflection of etomidate ingestion. It's not just about physical deterioration; it will expose your shameful behavior, strip you of your dignity, and leave an indelible stain on your life.

2. Clearly defined illegal status: To thoroughly combat this drug, the government officially included etomidate and its analogues in the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance on February 14, 2025. This means that any unauthorized possession, use, or sale is a serious criminal offense, with a maximum penalty of life imprisonment!

3. A real and imminent threat: Since 2023, this drug has rapidly gained popularity among teenagers. Frontline anti-drug personnel have clearly stated that it is highly addictive and harmful, providing a temporary high but also causing respiratory depression, endocrine system collapse, and even death.

Dear students, this is not alarmist talk, but a reality that is happening right now. Drug dealers use fancy packaging and language to beautify drugs, aiming to lower our guard and make us ignore the legal consequences and health hazards they pose.

Faced with such a trap, how can we protect ourselves?

First, arm yourself with knowledge. Remember the name "etopimidate," recognize its disguise as "e-cigarette oil," and understand its terrifying, zombie-like consequences. Understand that the law clearly defines it as a crime.

Second, let a healthy lifestyle become our natural protection. Invest time in sports fields, music rooms, and libraries, and find a sense of belonging and accomplishment in your true hobbies.

Third, have the courage and wisdom to say "no." You must firmly refuse any e-cigarettes, drinks, or items of dubious origin, and anyone who tries to persuade you to "give it a try." This courage protects your freedom, health, and future.
